Tameside Council held its annual Careers and Apprenticeship Exhibition at Stalybridge Civic Hall on Friday 26th June 2015. The event hosted over 35 exhibitors with 60 different exhibits from reputable businesses and learning providers such as Hawke International, Sainsburys, Santander, Tameside College and Positive Steps.
All Secondary Schools within the Borough were invited to participate in the event, with over 1,000 pupils attending and taking part in activities they may otherwise never have had an opportunity to experience. Looking around the room, there were pupils learning to change tyres, cook pancakes, decorate gingerbread men, shave a balloon and take part in virtual welding.
The initial feedback from both pupils and teachers has confirmed the event was a huge success and was both engaging and informative.
