Portable toilet supplier Challenger Site Services won two trophies in the 2015 Pride of Tameside Business Awards.
The Ashton based company won the Business of the Year and Service Provider of the Year awards in the competition.
The family firm which spans three generations was established in 1994 and employs 25 people providing portable toilets for construction sites, festivals and special events ranging frm local events like Tameside Christmas Market and Willow Wood Hospice fundraisers to pop and rock concerts, they also supplied the Manchester Commonwealth Games in 2002.
The Judges described Challenger Site Services as “outstanding”, saying its “corporate and social responsibility was second to none”. The firm also has notable green credentials, using computer routes planning to cut down mileage and eco-friendly cleaning products as well as ensuring the 70,000 loo rolls it orders per year come from sustainable resources.
Partner Shaun said: “My parents used to run a tool hire business in Tameside and Challenger Site Services was an idea that grew from that. There are a vast number of successful and innovative businesses in Tameside so for us to be picked out to receive this recognition is absolutely fantastic.”
