Marie Ashworth was devastated when she woke in the middle of the night to find water coming through the front door of her Droylsden home.
The flood, caused by vandals opening lock gates, ruined carpet and walls in her living room leaving her home uninhabitable. She was forced to stay with her daughter Kerry as she could not afford the repairs.

4 Trade Paints came to the rescue and teamed up with local painter and decorator Eddy Proctor to redecorate Marie’s home. They also got a helping hand from Droylsden cubs which included Marie’s grandson Max.

Marie said: “I love to have my family round at Christmas and it was distressing to think that this year it wasn’t going to be possible.

"I am so grateful to the 4TRADE team for offering to redecorate my house; I will be inviting the whole family round to admire the new paint work.”

Nicola Pentland, 4TRADE brand manager, added: “It is upsetting to see the effects thoughtless vandalism can have on a person or a community.

"We are delighted to be able to help in this situation and use our 4TRADE paints to get the best result for Marie that will last for a long time to come"
