"The Stalybridge Handmade Market will return for the last time this year on Saturday 22/11 from 10am until 3pm. This market will be the biggest of the year so far with around 80 handmade craft and food stalls taking over the ground floor of the Civic Hall. There will be live music throughout the day from Willow Wood Choir, Colette Todd and The Dollar Bombers and refreshments will be available including mediterranean delights from Sara Dip and Tea and mulled cider.
Grow Happy Childcare, formally Gorse Hall Kids Club, will be once again be running kids craft activities and Tameside Radio will be broadcasting live from the market too.
It's just 50p admission, free for under 12's which includes entry in a prize draw to win a hamper made up of handmade gifts from every stall. The winner of the draw will be announced at 2.55pm at the market so worth sticking around for. Proceeds from this month's market admission will be split between Reuben's Retreat and Willow Wood Hospice. Staff from Gymetc Stalybridge will also be doing a sponsored row at the event to raise funds for Reuben's Retreat.
Sadly this will be the last Handmade Market to take place in the old market hall due to TMBC staff moving into the hall next year. MWL Events, who run the market, will be announcing the market's new locations before the year is out. "It's such a shame we are to lose this amazing venue next year as it's provided us with the perfect backdrop for our events for 2 years" said Katherine from MWL Events. "Without an alternative venue with this capacity in the town we are looking for more venues in and around Tameside to house the markets and hopefully we'll be running them more often"
