Two RAF pals have completed a gruelling 300 mile cycle to raise awareness of a rare condition.
Audenshaw's David Charlesworth who suffers from Lupus, which affects his kidneys and muscles and can leave him debilitated, teamed up with pal and fellow novice rider Liam Keen and biked from one end of the country to the other.
They cycled from Liam’s house in Plymouth to David’s in Audenshaw. David has almost doubled his £500 target, so far generating just shy of £1,200 for the Kelgren Centre for rheumatology at Manchester Royal Infirmary where David himself has been treated.
David said: “It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I’m still achiing noe, it was an amazing experience. The support we’ve had since has been really overwhelming, seeing everyone at the finish really made it all worthwhile.
