Salford City came from a goal down to beat Curzon Ashton 2-1 in the FA Cup Second Qualifying Round, and secure a first home win this season.
Despite Matt Warburton’s opener Curzon Ashton went out of the FA Cup Second Qualifying Round, losing 2-1 away at Salford City Salford also claimed a first win against Curzon at home in five attempts.
Curzon had the best of the early play as top scorer Warburton hit a shot over from a corner before dragging wide when taking advantage of a mix up at the back after eight minutes.
However Salford went level when Stephen O’Halloran’s cross was met in the box by Danny Webber, who glanced a header into the roof of the net. The ex Manchester United striker Danny webber completed his second on 38 minutes as his trickery left Hakan Burton stranded to finish off a skilful move, started by Jordan Hulme who beat three players before feeding a pass through to substitute James Poole to pull back for Webber.
