Tameside Council are stepping up their efforts to tackle the problem of dog fouling. They have engaged the services of an outside agency and are planning to send enforcement officers into hotspot areas as directed by local residents, £80 penalty fines will be issued to those found guilty of not cleaning up after their dog has fouled.
John Taylor of Tameside Council said "Its caused by a small minority of people and the vast majority of dog owners who pick up after their pets fully understand why we are taking these measures. People should be able to walk along streets and paths without stepping into dog mess." If you have a dog fouling problem call Tameside Council on 0161 342 8353.
