Tameside Council’s Employment and Skills Team, along with Businesses in the Community and Tameside 4 Good recently held Tameside’s first Business and Charity Speed Networking event.
The event was an opportunity for local businesses and charities to meet likeminded individuals and create beneficial business connections.
In the ‘speed dating’ nature of the event, each charity was partnered with a business for a total of 5 minutes at a time. In this time the business/charity had the opportunity to discuss ways in which they could work together to help each other succeed.
Dennis Phillips, the Ambassador of the Timpson Foundation was a keynote speaker he discussed how businesses and charities can work and develop together, he also shared the inspiring work The Timpson Foundation is carrying out with young offenders and their success in turning so many lives around.
The event was a huge success, with a number of matches being made. A number of attendees stated that they were proud to be involved and would recommend the event to their business colleagues.
Due to the success of Tameside’s first Business Charity Speed Networking event, another is due to be scheduled in the future.
