Businesses in Tameside are invited to a series of fully funded workshops designed to set them on the road to success.

Tameside Council has partnered with Daresbury-based RTC North, a leading innovation, business support and training company, to deliver a series of fully funded workshops for 10 companies in the Tameside area.

The workshops will be held on the 8th, 25th and 31st of November and will be aimed at helping companies develop new products and services, identify market opportunities for new and existing products, define plans for future growth, and much more.

Local businesses attended a breakfast event last week to understand the benefit of the workshops and sign up to take part, and as a result there are only a few places left to fill.

Cllr Ged Cooney, Executive Member for Economic Growth, Employment and Housing at Tameside Council, said: “It’s great to have seen the interest from our local businesses in these workshops. Tameside’s businesses have a strong history of innovation, dating back to the industrial revolution. Technology and business models are evolving faster and faster, so businesses need to have the tools to manage introducing new products and services. These sessions will help our local business continue to prosper.”

Each workshop will consist of a morning session where companies will be introduced to tried and tested innovation tools, followed by a buffet lunch, and a confidential meeting with an advisor to explore putting the learned techniques into practice. Specialist mentoring support will also be provided between the sessions to assist companies.

Matt Wright, Innovation Advisor from RTC North, said: “Innovation is recognised as at the heart of productivity and improved commercial success but specialist support is limited. RTC are leaders in the field, which is why we wanted to work with Tameside Council to help change that. This is a great opportunity for small and medium sized companies to quickly put their ideas into practice.”
