Tameside Christmas lights switch begins in Mossley on Thursday, November 20, and ends in Ashton on Sunday, November 30, with the lantern parade to launch the Tameside Christmas Market.
Thursday, November 20
Starts at 6pm with a lantern parade from the market ground to the George Lawton Hall where the lights will be turned on at 7pm. Father Christmas will be in the George Lawton Hall and children can see him for £1.50.
Friday, November 21
Starting at 4.30pm. There will be an ice rink, Father Christmas, music, a band, singer Iona Fisher and the Freedom Dancers. Lights switch-on at 6.30pm by Cllr Dawson Lane, Civic Mayor of Tameside. Firework display.
Saturday, November 22
Civic square at 6.30pm. Christmas market on November 19 to 23. Food, drink, fairground rides, bar, novelty stalls and Father Christmas.
Wednesday, November 26
At Ryecroft Hall from 5pm onwards. Fun fair, school choir and St John's Old Band, Father Christmas to give gifts to first 100 children.
Thursday, November 27
Dukinfield Town Hall, King Street: 6pm – switch-on, Father Christmas, Yew Tree Singers, post box for letters to Santa.
Saturday, November 29
Craft fair in Concord Suite (10am to 4pm). Funfair on Greenside Lane at rear of Concord Suite. Entertainment in civic square from 4pm culminating in lights switch-on and firework display at 6.30pm.

Sunday, November 30
Lantern parade is 5 to 7pm incorporating Christmas tree switch-on and a firework display
