Tameside Council are encouraging everyone to get involved in some outdoor spring-cleaning for National Community Clear Up Day?
You can get involved with several events taking place across the borough tomorrow or, if you, your neighbours, friends, family or work colleagues want to organise a litter-pick in the next few weeks, let us know and we can provide you with a community clean-up kit.
By taking part you’ll be helping us to Tameside’s streets, residential and business areas, village, parks and footpaths look their best.
Cllr Lynn Travis, Tameside Council’s executive member for neighbourhoods, said: “There’s no need for anyone to drop litter but unfortunately they do, creating a persistent and costly problem which has a huge impact on the quality of life.
“National Community Clear Up Day is designed to bring communities together by showing pride in their local area. If you want to get involved, we can help you.”
Contact Tameside Council via Twitter @TamesideCouncil or Facebook and we’ll supply you with litter-pickers and bags.
If you can’t organise your own event, join in with any of the listed community clean-ups which are taking place across the borough in the coming weeks.
