Aldwinians played out another draw against Cumbrian opposition.
They were keen to use home advantage going into a 5-0 lead against Aspatria, Andy Gidman scoring the first try of the match. However, Aspatria quickly came back into the match going 5-8 ahead after some nifty play. The rest of the first half ebbed and flowed between the 2 teams leaving the half time score at 13 apiece.
The early stages of the second half saw Aspatria go into a 13-20 lead. The next phase of the game saw both sides running the ball at each other opening up the play area which saw Captain Ben Marsland score a try to put Aldwinians 23-20 up.
The last period saw Aldwinians ahead until right near the end when they conceded a penalty which Aspatria converted making the final score 26-26.
In the South Lancs and Cheshire league DUKINFIELD secured a second league draw at Blocksages drawing 20-20 with Moore. They should have won comfortably, but missed many chances. Moore held out for a draw despite intense pressure from DUKINFIELD.
