Hyde Clarendon College have renamed their sports hall after former student Alex Williams (Mum, Dad and Sister pictured above).
Alex died aged 18 after suffering a stroke. At the age of seven Alex contracted meningitis, but fought back and became an ambassador for the Meningitis trust despite the debilitating effects of the disease.
Alex enjoyed sport and encouraged others with health issues to do the same and achieve things, he also received 12 nominations to carry the Olympic torch. He loved attending Hyde Clarendon College and was an inspiration to everyone around him, the college together with supporters around tameside has raised tens of thousands of pounds in Alex's name since he died in 2012.
Alex's parents and sister are so proud that the Hyde Clarendon Sports Hall has been named after him.
