YOUNG people in Tameside have a new option for obtaining skills and qualifications with a new training provider moving into the borough.
Tameside Council is supporting the opening of Juniper Training - an independent training provider for 16-24 year olds.
Juniper, an Ofsted rated good provider, will provide young people with opportunities to obtain the necessary skills, experience and qualifications to progress onto an apprenticeship, into employment or further education.
The new training hub, in Ashton, will be officially launched on Monday 11th June 2018 at 166 Stamford Street, from 10am until 3pm.
All 16-18 year olds, parents/carers, partners, employers and the local community are invited to attend the launch and by attending could be in with a chance to win an Amazon Echo plus many more prizes. Register to attend at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/launch-of-juniper-training-hub-ashton-under-lyne-tickets-45761516929 or turn up on the day.
Juniper is an alternative to college and offers a 100% progression promise to remove any barriers to learning or progression into a job, apprenticeship or further education. It supports over 1700 students per year, delivers the MINT Study Programme, Traineeships and Apprenticeships across 13 centres based in the West Midlands, East Midlands and Cheshire.
Tameside Council Executive Leader Cllr Brenda Warrington said: “We welcome this Ofsted good rated provider to Tameside - it will provide young people with more choices and opportunities to increase their skills and life chances and forms part of our wider strategy to develop the post-16 sector in the borough.”
