YOUNG volunteers are being invited to gain skills while helping to bring a bundle of fun to local libraries this summer.

Tameside Libraries are looking for volunteers aged 12 to 18 to help run activity sessions for children taking part in the Mischief Makers Summer Reading Challenge during the summer holidays.

No experience is required - volunteers just need to attend three activity sessions during the school holidays and be able to explain things in a clear, friendly and enthusiastic way. All the support they need will be provided.

The opportunity will help to develop their planning, communication and teamwork skills and their confidence. It’s also a great way to get involved in the local community, do something useful with their time in the holidays and make new friends.

Anyone interested in becoming a Mischief Makers volunteer, you can find out more at www.tameside.gov.uk/libraries/src/volunteer . The closing date for applications is Saturday 30 June.
