Twenty four actors will meet at the Hyde Festival Theatre on Friday September 5th. They will divide into six groups and a writer and director will be drawn by lots for each group. The writers will spend the night compiling a play and the actors will rehearse the play during the day on the saturday under the control of a Director. All the plays, lasting between 12 and 15 minutes, will be performed in front of an audience at the Festival Theatre on the Saturday evening.
The "speed theatre" event will help to raise money for the Hyde Festival Theatre. The Festival Theatre chairman, Peter Wright, described it as "very pressurising, but a lot of fun, it's become a popular and well attended event on the Theatre's calendar."
