Tameside help and advice services over the festive period

HELP and advice on local services is available to Tameside residents over the Christmas period.
 
Tameside Council’s website can be accessed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for council services and information.
 
Customer services centres, libraries and the call centre will close on Friday 22 December 2017 as normal and will re-open on Tuesday 2 January 2018 at the normal operating hours for each site.
 
Portland Basin Museum and Central Art Gallery will close at 4pm on Friday 22 December 2017. Normal opening hours will resume from Tuesday 2 January 2018.
 
There will be no bin collections on Christmas Day with green bins due on that day to be collected on Wednesday 27 December and black or blue bin collections on Friday December 29.
 
There will also be no bin collections on Boxing Day with green bins due on that day to be collected on Thursday 28 December and black or blue bin collections on Tuesday 2 January 2018.
 
Bins will be collected as normal from Wednesday 27 December to Friday 29 December except for brown bins.
 
There will be no bin collections on Monday 1 January with green bins due on that day to be collected on Wednesday 3 January 2018 and black or blue bin collections on Thursday 4 January 2018.
 
Bins will be collected as normal from Tuesday 2 January 2018 to Friday 5 January 2018 except for brown bins.
 
You can recycle your Christmas tree by leaving it out with your brown bin from the week commencing Monday 8 January.
 
Please visit www.tameside.gov.uk/recycling to check your collection dates or you can download our app from the Apple or Google Play store. If adverse weather conditions make collections impossible then residents will be informed via the council’s social media accounts.
 
Some pharmacies will remain open during the festive period including Ashton PCC, Old Street, Ashton, on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day from 10am to 8pm. Visit www.tamesideandglossopccg.org or call your local pharmacy to check on other openings.
