St George's church, Church walk, Stalybridge are holding an anniversary weekend as part of their 175 years celebrations. This will start at 11 am on Saturday 20th June when the church will hold an open day.
You will be able to look round the historic Church and graveyard; view the old parish registers and listen to music played on our historic organ.Food and Fair Trade drinks will also be be available. On Saturday evening there will be a concert given by Tameside Voices choir at 7.30 pm.
The Bishop of Middleton will preside and preach at their 10.30am Sunday Service followed by a Bring and Share Lunch. The day will be rounded off with a Songs of Praise evening service at 6pm. Everyone is invited to join in any or all of these events. They are also holding monthly events throughout the year which will be posted on their web site www.stg.org.uk
